Clearwater Marine Aquarium Announces Exciting 2025 Marine Science Summer Camp Program

Press Releases Announcements Updated February 12, 2025 Posted January 27, 2025

Get a Jump on Summer Fun with CMA Exciting Programs for All Ages

CLEARWATER, FL (Jan. 27, 2025)  –  Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA) is excited to unveil its highly anticipated Marine Science Summer Camp for 2025, offering an incredible blend of hands-on learning and coastal adventure for young explorers of all ages.

Launching on June 2, the CMA Summer Camps will immerse campers in an engaging educational experience, bringing them face-to-face with rescued dolphins, sea turtles and river otters as they discover CMA’s core mission of rescue, rehabilitation and release. The camps offer a wide variety of activities, including snorkeling through vibrant seagrass beds, kayaking across beautiful local estuaries, and plenty of other water-based adventures. The weekly camps run through Aug. 8.

This year there will be more choices for second and third graders, and middle school campers have two new options that are both fun and educational to provide more in-depth experiences and teach more advance concepts, including Animal Care 101 and Ecosystem Advocates. In addition, a field investigation program will be offered for high schoolers, offering an insider’s look at scientific research and conservation.

CMA is pleased to announce the return of the Ron Jon & Surfing’s Evolution and Preservation Foundation Scholarship for summer 2025. This scholarship provides an incredible opportunity for students in grades 4-8 to participate in the camp experience. The scholarship covers a week of full-day camp tuition, a camp gear pack, and daily lunches for selected weeks. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and interested applicants can apply via the link provided on CMA’s website.

For added peace of mind, CMA’s boating and snorkeling activities are led by Coast Guard-certified captains, along with experienced staff and college interns. Campers will also have access to shallow waters during snorkeling, making it an ideal experience for both beginners and seasoned snorkelers alike.

“At CMA, we believe in creating transformative experiences where learning, conservation, and adventure come together,” said Kelly McAdams, CMA’s vice president of conservation education. “We offer a wide range of activities that engage young minds and foster a deeper appreciation for marine life and the importance of conservation, empowering campers to make a positive impact on our oceans,” said McAdams.

Camps are available for various age groups, including K-3, 2-3, 4-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Each program spans five days, from Monday to Friday, with morning sessions running from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and afternoon sessions from 1 to 4 p.m. There are several full-day camp experiences available for middle and high school students this year as well, such as  the Advanced Marine Biology camp, which runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Weekly camp fees start at $250, with a special discount of $230 for CMA members. For more information about CMA’s Marine Science Summer Camps or to register, please visit the CMA camp webpage.
