Help support sea turtles by signing up for Sea Turtle Virtual 5k Race with medal
(CLEARWATER, FL – March 6 , 2026) – Learn about sea turtles and celebrate Sea Turtle Awareness Day April 4 at Clearwater Marine Aquarium from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. CMA will host more than a dozen sea turtle conservation partners and teams represented with additional information to help protect sea turtles and their habitats. This event is included with general admission tickets.
Participating partners include Florida Aquarium, Keep Pinellas Beautiful, Sea Turtle Trackers, Synergy, Water Warriors, Treasure Island Beach Ambassadors, ACE Hardware, ASPCA, Trash Turtles and more.
The CMA Sea Turtle Conservation Program is preparing for sea turtle nesting season, which begins May 1, and will have nest stake painting and custom Protect the Nest plaques. For the second year, CMA will have a virtual 5k race, which participants can complete at their leisure, and comes with a uniquely designed medal. Race entry is $50. Families can protect a sea turtle nest this season with a personalized plaque which will be placed at one of CMA’s nests for the duration of the 2026 season. In addition to photos of your plaque, you will also receive monthly updates on the nesting season from our nesting team, and at the end of the season, you will receive an update on your nest as well as your personalized plaque to keep.
Guests can also enter for a chance to win a Sea Turtle Nesting ride-along package or Protect the Nest plaque.
