The AquaGala fundraiser guarantees an evening of sophistication, entertainment and enlightenment. Attendees will relish in exquisite cuisine, unforgettable entertainment and gain insight into the crucial work undertaken at CMA. From animal encounters to lively musical performances, this event promises to be a highlight of the year.
Kelly Jordan, chief development officer of CMA, articulated the significance of the upcoming fundraising gala, emphasizing its integral role within the overarching Rising Tides campaign. “This fabulous gala represents more than just an evening of celebration; it’s a culmination of our collective efforts and the embodiment of our shared commitment,” she stated. “As we reflect on our achievements and chart the course ahead, every gracious contribution resonates deeply, supporting CMA’s mission to safeguard marine life for future generations.”
CMA is also excited to honor two incredible community leaders with awards. Melissa Seixas, CEO of Duke Energy, will receive the Frank Chivas Positive Impact Award, and Cindee Braciak will receive the Winter’s Hope Award.
Every ticket sold for the gala will go directly toward CMA’s incredibly important mission – the commitment to rescue, rehabilitate and release marine life. The dedicated staff, volunteers, and researchers at the Aquarium are driven by their passion to provide marine animals with the chance they need to thrive.
“As we come together for our annual AquaGala fundraiser and to celebrate the successful launch of our ‘Rising Tides’ campaign, our aquarium stands tall as a beacon of hope for marine life. CMA continues to
answer the calls of marine animals with dedication and passion, all thanks to the contributions from each one of you,” said Joe Handy, chief executive officer. “AquaGala is more than just a fundraiser; it’s a testament to our shared responsibility toward helping struggling ecosystems. It reminds us that every rescued creature has been given a second chance to live a better life. Let this night be about compassion and generosity as we work together to create a brighter future for our planet,” said Handy.
This year, the gala will be held at the luxurious Ballroom at CMA, and will give guests the opportunity to stroll amongst the sea life. With a diverse range of resident rescued animals, including dolphins, sea turtles, stingrays, river otters, and soon-to-arrive manatees, the marine hospital serves as a refuge for these incredible creatures. Special animal encounter will be held with a sloth as well as a monitor lizard, and allow guests to get up close and personal.
Funds raised during the event will directly support the ongoing care and rehabilitation of marine animals, as well as the expansion of CMA’s facilities to accommodate the upcoming arrival of other species.
CMA invites all animal lovers, conservation enthusiasts and supporters of marine life to join them. By attending this event, guests will not only have a memorable evening but will also contribute to the continued success of CMA’s mission.
