Clearwater Marine Aquarium to Present Dueling Pianos Dec. 20

Press Releases Announcements Updated December 18, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024

Artistic pianos will ring in the season, inspire creativity

CLEARWATER, FL  (Dec. 17, 2024)  – Experience a musical evening to remember with a Dueling Pianos performance at Clearwater Marine Aquarium on Friday, Dec. 20 from 6 to 9 p.m.

CMA guests can join in the fun for a delightful Dueling Pianos performance presented by Tampa Tunes on the fourth floor of the Visitors’ Center. Featuring the talented Nick Peters and Julian Pernett, this dynamic live performance will fill the night with inspiring and festive music.

Guests can experience music two beautifully painted pianos: One piano, painted by Annie Dong, will remain at CMA permanently and celebrates the diversity of the animals cared for by The Aquarium, including dolphins and manatees.

The second piano, painted by Cuban artist Yunior Del Pozo Diaz, will move to the Imagine Museum as part of a permanent exhibit on Dec. 21, after the CMA performances. This beautifully crafted piano is the 7th installation in Tampa Tunes’ project to place 12 uniquely painted pianos throughout the Tampa Bay area in 2024. Designed to celebrate the fusion of music, art, and community, the piano will serve as both an interactive public installation and a vibrant symbol of cultural expression.

Tampa Tunes is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching public spaces through music and art installations. By placing accessible pianos in the Tampa Bay area, the organization aims to inspire creativity, foster community connections and make music a part of everyday life.

Local music students and guests are encouraged to showcase their skills on these artistic pianos while they’re on display at CMA.

This experience is included with Aqua Lanterns admission on Dec. 20. To purchase tickets to Aqua Lanterns, please visit www.cmaquarium.org/aqua-lanterns/.
