Interactive traveling experience brings ocean conservation education directly to the community.
Clearwater Marine Aquarium is hitting the road with its new Healthy Habitats and Oceans (H2O) Mobile Exhibit, a 38-foot traveling experience designed to bring hands-on marine science education directly into the community. Media are invited to get an exclusive look at the exhibit on April 29 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Countryside Library in Clearwater.
The H2O Mobile Exhibit offers an immersive, interactive journey into the world of sea turtles and Florida’s delicate coastal ecosystems. Through engaging, hands-on activities, participants explore real-world conservation challenges and discover how individual actions can help protect marine life and the environment.
“This exhibit is all about connection—helping people see how their curiosity can lead to real solutions for ocean conservation,” said Dr. Kelly McAdams, Vice President of Conservation Education. “We want to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards by making science accessible, engaging and relevant.”
Designed with students and educators in mind, the H2O Mobile Exhibit brings classroom lessons to life while extending its reach to libraries, community centers, STEM nights and public events. The exhibit encourages participants of all ages to think critically, ask questions, and take action.Visitors stepping inside the mobile unit will:
- Explore the lives of sea turtles and the challenges they face
- Learn about Florida’s coastal habitats and human impacts
- Engage with interactive displays that promote problem-solving and conservation awareness
The exhibit complements CMA’s Florida Gulf Coast conservation work by taking those educational lessons and experiences directly into communities.
While built for school groups—with recommended 45-minute sessions for classes of up to 30 students—the H2O Mobile Exhibit is designed to be flexible and accessible for a wide range of audiences, from families to private events.
CMA’s traveling exhibit is available for booking at schools and community locations, offering a unique opportunity to bring marine science education directly to participants. Locations more than 75 miles from Clearwater may be subject to additional travel fees.
