Clearwater Marine Aquarium Welcomes Back Two Juvenile Kangaroo Joeys for the Holidays

Clearwater, Florida. (December 15, 2025) — Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA) is delighted to welcome two juvenile kangaroo joeys back to cozy up the holiday season.
The two young joeys, provided by Amazing Animals, Inc., will bring extra holiday charm as they greet guests with heart-warming snuggles. During the visit, CMA will host its Pouch Pals Baby Roo Encounter, a special program where guests can experience the rare opportunity of having a baby kangaroo curl up in their lap, offering gentle interaction, touching, and bonding as the joey relaxes inside its pouch.
Steve, a 7-month-old joey, and Sui, 1 year old, are both in early developmental stages—known for their curiosity, energetic personalities, and keen interest in exploring new surroundings. The kangaroo encounter will be offered from Saturday, Dec. 20 through Jan. 4 and can be reserved online at Pouch Pals Baby Roo Encounter – Clearwater Marine Aquarium.
“We’re happy to welcome Steve and Sui to Clearwater Marine Aquarium,” said Joe Handy, CEO of CMA. “Having these joeys here allows our guests to connect with Australian wildlife in a memorable and personal way. Just as importantly, encounters like this help spark meaningful conversations about conservation—why species like kangaroos need healthy habitats, and how each of us can play a role in protecting wildlife around the world.”
Throughout the season, visitors can enjoy educational presentations highlighting the joeys’ natural behaviors, feeding routines, and fun facts about their native Australian ecosystems. Presentations will also spotlight vital kangaroo conservation efforts and the environmental challenges facing marsupials in the wild.
The Pouch Pals Baby Roo Encounter is available to adults and children ages 5–12 for $49.95 per person. Children between 5–12 must be accompanied by a paid participating adult. Each guest receives a complimentary individual photo, with additional photos available for purchase.
Clearwater Marine Aquarium remains committed to offering unique, engaging animal experiences that inspire learning, strengthen connections with wildlife, and support global conservation efforts—while creating memorable moments for guests of all ages.
