Florida-Founded Coffee Company Supports Clearwater Marine Aquarium’s New Manatee Rehabilitation Center
CLEARWATER, FL (August 20, 2024) – Manatee Coffee, the Florida-founded coffee company and original “Coffee with a Cause,” has proudly partnered with Clearwater Marine Aquarium to support the highly anticipated opening of its new Manatee Rehabilitation Center, which debuted to the public last week on Monday, August 12. Due to Manatee Coffee’s reputation in The Sunshine State, for its devoted philanthropic efforts toward manatee preservation, Clearwater Marine Aquarium sought out its support to spread awareness for the new Manatee Rehabilitation Center and this unique partnership was formed.
“Partnering with Clearwater Marine Aquarium is an honor and a heartfelt commitment for us at Manatee Coffee. This cause resonates deeply with our mission, as the preservation of manatees is the cornerstone of our existence. Every purchase of our coffee aids in these preservation efforts, and this partnership elevates our mission to a new level, ensuring these gentle giants thrive for generations to come,” says Nick Thompson, Director of Marketing at Manatee Coffee.
“Clearwater Marine Aquarium is delighted to be able to partner with Manatee Coffee,” said Anthony Rivera, chief operating officer. “CMA has been working in the rescue and release of manatees for almost 20 years and our new Manatee Rehabilitation Center will help our mission come full circle,” he said. “We strive to build relationships with partners who not only believe in our mission but collaborate with us to create impact,” said Rivera.
Since its inception, Manatee Coffee has built its brand on a mission to support national nonprofit organizations and research institutions that significantly support manatees and their habitats. Clearwater Marine Aquarium joins Manatee Coffee’s list of partners to which it regularly donates including Save the Manatee Club, The Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida, and Mote Marine Laboratory. To date, Manatee Coffee has contributed $65,750 to these partners.

ABOUT MANATEE COFFEE
Manatee Coffee began on the historic island of Sanibel, Florida. Brothers Brad and Cary Gutwein learned about manatees and their endangered status inspiring them to explore ways to support and protect their habitats. Pairing this cause with their passion for coffee led them to discover Manatee Coffee on Marco Island. Intrigued by this “coffee with a cause,” Brad and Cary acquired ownership of Manatee Coffee in 2010 to further support its mission. Today, Manatee Coffee continues its mission to provide high-grade coffee while aiding in improving manatee protection efforts, and each purchase helps to support manatees and their habitats.
