Boreas
Boreas is a juvenile, green sea turtle who was found floating and swimming abnormally near Fort DeSoto on Nov. 30th. Boreas has no external abnormalities and is in overall good body condition.
INTERESTING FACT: Naming Theme: Greek Mythology. Boreas is our 80th live intake of the year! We have well surpassed last year’s live intake numbers (74).

Boreas did exhibit abnormal swimming behavior in water and was swimming in circles. We will continue to monitor. They were placed in a shallow kiddie pool which reduced that behavior being observed.

Boreas is able to be in a shallow kiddie pool all day. They are also showing interest in food. They are receiving fluids daily.

Boreas was started on antibiotics based on recent labwork.
All marine turtle footage taken in Florida was obtained with the approval of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) under conditions not harmful to marine turtles. Footage was acquired while conducting authorized conservation activities pursuant to FWC MTP-25/26-172.
