Hindsale’s Story
Hinsdale is a juvenile green sea turtle who was found floating in St. Johns county on Aug. 25. Hinsdale was transferred to CMA from Whitney Lab on Aug. 27 due to space limitations they were experiencing with recent strandings. CMA will continue out the remainder of their rehabilitation.

Hinsdale does exhibit buoyant behaviors in water and floating at the surface. Due to this behavior, they were placed in a deep shallow pool. We will continue to monitor and increase their swim time as they improve. They are showing interest in food!

Hinsdale has been in deep water all day and overnight. They are able to eat off the bottom but is continuing to rest at the surface.

Due to the extensive damage from Hurricane Helene to our life support systems, all our sea turtle patients were transferred to Coastal Stewards to continue out their rehabilitation until our pools are fixed.
All marine turtle footage taken in Florida was obtained with the approval of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) under conditions not harmful to marine turtles. Footage was acquired while conducting authorized conservation activities pursuant to FWC MTP-23/24-172.
