Jumanji’s Story
Jumanji is a juvenile green sea turtle who found washed ashore on March 24 in Nassau County. Due to space limitations, Jumanji was transferred to CMA from Whitney Lab to continue out the remainder of their rehabilitation.

Jumanji did well on their first swim test. No abnormal swimming behaviors and was able to rest on the bottom in deep water!

Unfortunately there was a mouth tumor found on Jumanji’s exam this week. These tumors are not removable. There were also significant growth of new tumors seen on Jumanji’s face and head. Due to these findings, Jumanji was humanely euthanized.
All marine turtle footage taken in Florida was obtained with the approval of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) under conditions not harmful to marine turtles. Footage was acquired while conducting authorized conservation activities pursuant to FWC MTP-23/24-172.
