Quartz’s Story
Quartz is a juvenile green sea turtle who found washed ashore on March 24 in Daytona Beach Shores. Due to space limitations, Quartz was transferred to CMA from Volusia County Marine Science Center.

Quartz did well on their first swim test. No abnormal swimming behaviors and was able to rest on the bottom in deep water!

Quartz was released on the east coast of Florida thanks to the help of FWC!
All marine turtle footage taken in Florida was obtained with the approval of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) under conditions not harmful to marine turtles. Footage was acquired while conducting authorized conservation activities pursuant to FWC MTP-23/24-172.
