Titan
Titan is a juvenile, green sea turtle who was found floating and having difficulty staying submerged near New Port Richey on March 10th. Titan has an old, healed injury to their caudal carapace and has a very, robust body condition. We will be performing diagnostics over the next several days to help determine the cause to their buoyancy.

Titan is buoyant in deep water and does have difficulty staying submerged. We will continue to increase their swim time over the next few days.

Titan’s CT scan showed a lot of gastrointestinal gas that could be the cause of their buoyancy. We will be monitoring their defecations over the next several days. We are continuing to give them daily fluids.

Titan is able to be in deep water all day and overnight. They are still resting at the surface. They have been defecating regularly.

Due to their gastrointestinal issues, we have been slowly introducing food to Titan. They are eating well.
