Sea Turtle Hospital Patient – Ruby

Ruby is a juvenile green sea turtle who found washed ashore on March 24 in Volusia county. Due to space limitations, Ruby was transferred to CMA from Volusia County Marine Science Center to continue out the remainder of their rehabilitation.

Quartz is a juvenile green sea turtle who found washed ashore on March 24 in Daytona Beach Shores. Due to space limitations, Quartz was transferred to CMA from Volusia County Marine Science Center.

Pearl the Diamondback Terrapin Returned to Wild After 9 Months of Rehabilitation at Clearwater Marine Aquarium

CLEARWATER, FL (March 28, 2024)– Pearl, an adult, female diamondback terrapin, was found floating June 16 near a seawall in Palm Harbor. Her carapace – or shell – had injuries, and Pearl was lethargic, underweight, and had minimal use of her rear legs at intake examination.

Sea Turtle Hospital Patient – Neptunite

Neptunite is a juvenile green sea turtle who was found washed ashore in Volusia county on March 11. Neptunite was transferred to CMA on March 12 from Volusia County Marine Science Center as they do not treat turtles with the fibropapilloma virus and other facilities had space limitations. Neptunite was lethargic and had a moderate load of epibiota present on their carapace on intake examiniation. Neptunite’s initial treatment plan consists of vitamins and fluids.

Ruffles is a juvenile green sea turtle who was found floating near Cocoa Beach in Brevard county on March 9. Due to space limitations, Ruffles was transferred to CMA on March 10 to continue out the remainder of their rehabilitation. Ruffles has a relatively good body condition and a moderate load of fibropapilloma tumors present. Ruffles initial treatment plan consists of vitamins and fluids.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium invites families to indulge in a Seaside Easter Breakfast on Saturday, March 30, from 9 to 11 a.m. This delightful event will feature a visit from the Easter Bunny, as well as the opportunity to meet live bunny rabbits and capture memorable photos. Guests will be treated to a gourmet breakfast buffet while enjoying an interactive dolphin presentation. Surrounded by marine life, families and friends can partake in fun activities and create lasting memories in a picturesque setting, while supporting CMA’s mission of rescue, rehabilitate and release.
