Naan’s Story
Naan is a juvenile green sea turtle who was found floating offshore in Citrus County on August 11. Naan has small fibropapilloma tumors on both eyes and several other tumors on their body. Their overall body condition and activity level is good! Naan’s initial treatment plan consists of fluids and vitamins.

Naan went for a routine CT scan no signs of obvious abnormalities! We are hopeful they will be ready for surgery soon!

Naan successfully had all fibropapilloma tumors removed with our CO2 laser. They were started on medicated eye drops to help the eyes heal from tumor removal. Over the next few weeks we will be monitoring the surgical sites for healing and regrowth.

All marine turtle footage taken in Florida was obtained with the approval of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) under conditions not harmful to marine turtles. Footage was acquired while conducting authorized conservation activities pursuant to FWC MTP-23/24-172.
