Toast’s Story
Toast is a large, juvenile green sea turtle who was found out of habitat in Dixie County on October 9. Toast has no obvious external injuries or abnormalities and is in good body condition. We are hopeful for a quick turnaround depending on initial diagnostics.

Toast’s first swim test showed now abnormal swimming behaviors. They are able to rest on the bottom of their pool. Toast’s activity level was good, and they were able to be in deep water all day and overnight.

Toast went for a routine CT scan. No obvious concerns seen!

Toast’s diagnostics reveal they are otherwise healthy and no concerns have been observed. Toast is eating and resting on the bottom! They have received a clean bill of health from our staff veterinarian.

All marine turtle footage taken in Florida was obtained with the approval of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) under conditions not harmful to marine turtles.
