Sea Turtle Hospital Patient – Mario Kart

Mario Kart is a juvenile Kemp’s ridley who was rescued on July 29, 2018. Mario Kart was hooked by a fisherman and the hook got caught in his right front flipper. The fisherman brought the turtle to the pier at the Seminole Boat Ramp where it was picked up and taken to Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

On July 15, 2018, Jenga was found floating in Honeymoon Island State Park and was brought to a ranger station before being taken to CMA.

Bowser was found floating and swimming sideways around St. John’s Sound, between Honeymoon Island State Park and Fred Howard Park on June 13, 2018. This was most likely due to gastrointestinal gas.

On April 28, 2018, a juvenile green sea turtle was found stranded on the East Coast of Florida with fibropapilloma tumors on the body and a large amount of epibiota (barnacles and algae).
