Why Start Blogging About Our Right Whale Aerial Surveys?

Before the start of our current survey season, I met (virtually) with CMA and CMARI staff to discuss the possibility of writing a blog about our aerial surveys, a blog that would hopefully give people more information about North Atlantic right whales and some behind-the-scenes looks at the work done by our aerial observers.

A Manatee’s Legacy: The Life and Loss of Leesburg

Even though “Leesburg” was killed by human interaction, her story inspired so many to learn more about manatees. Her journey will live on by the invaluable movement data she provided researchers and residents that live and play on the Ocklawaha waterways, all the way down to Leesburg, Florida.
