Sea Turtle Hospital Patient – Stormy

Very active. Minor injuries from entanglement. Great body condition

Received vitamins and fluids

Stormy’s Story

Stormy is a large, sub-adult loggerhead who was found offshore near Sand Key entangled in a crab trap. Exam findings showed minor abrasions from the entanglement. Due to minor injuries, great body condition and activity level, our team is hopeful for a quick recovery! 

Treatment Updates

Bloodwork was sent off to the lab. Placed in deep water and is doing well.

Stormy is released at Honeymoon Island!


All marine turtle footage taken in Florida was obtained with the approval of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) under conditions not harmful to marine turtles. Footage was acquired while conducting authorized conservation activities pursuant to FWC MTP-18-172.
